About & What's Up With Us

Hey you all! Greetings from Sunny Arizona. I have finally come up with a way to keep in touch with everyone back east in Kentucky & North Carolina, as well as our Arizona friends. Yea, I know what ya'll are thinking, we are way behind with technology! Everyone is blogging now days but we just never thought about it until now. Now that we are adopting.

Yes to those of you who didn't know, we (I) have been diagnosed four months ago with severe endometriosis & will never be able to have my own children. We are working with a Reproductive Endocrinologist to do a second surgery in hopes to repair more of the damage to my female parts. Who knows if it will help but we are trying to avoid a complete Hysterectomy that other doctors have recommended. So past the boring part!

We have completed our paperwork, had a home inspection, & paid our fees for the adoption. Now we just are waiting for "the baby" to be born. It sometimes takes a while since the birth mother chooses who she gives her baby to. Things have really changed since "days of old." We are attending the mandatory adoption classes, which by the way are great!!! Jeff & I both cried (sobbed) during Wednesday nights class. We met two birth mothers who came to share their side of the adoption process. All I can say is Kudos to the birthmothers who, even as they put it, have so much love for their babies that they are able to give that baby to a temple worthy couple. Those of you who may not know (Jeff & I live rightously by our church's standards, that we do as Heavenly Father has asked of us on this earth, & therefore we become temple worthy. (long story short).

Jeff & I came back to AZ after he found a great job with no traveling or should I rephrase that to moving around anymore. We love the southwest. The weather is always sunny & we are currently in the 13th year of a drought here in the desert! That's probably why its called a desert. (Not to mention the Super Bowl will be here in 2008, woo-hoo!) The pool in our neighborhood is heated all year around, so ya know white legs will be out there then. We love the weather, we just stay inside as much as possible when it is summer time. Jeff loves the fishing pond in our neighborhood, he just hates that it happens to be a catch & release pond. Ha, Ha no bragging for him to do! So he has taken up Quail hunting with his friends about once a month or so. Sorry, no luck there yet either. He's an excellent shooter b/c he had a perfect score at his weapons qualification this past weekend at Guard Drill, just aren't seeing much Quail.
